What is Fostering?
Fostering is when you open your heart and your home to an animal in need of care until their forever family is found.
Fostering can be a very rewarding experience and almost anyone can do it! So, if you love animals and want to help give them a second chance at life, then fostering is for you!.

What do foster carers need to provide?
Foster carers are asked to provide;
- Our recommended premium food (we check with carers if they need us to provide the food)
- Water
- Wormer and Flea Treatment (however we do get some donations and will notify the carer when available)
- A comfortable safe place to sleep and shelter
- A safe indoor environment for our Felines
- Transportation to Vet appointments for desex, vaccination, microchip and post surgical checks
- And of course lots of love, affection and socialisation
- Clear photos of the cat that give us a sense of their personality, so that we can create a profile for them and start looking for their forever home.
- And most importantly; care, commitment, and a sense of community (family) for the cats or kittens
Who pays for vet bills if veterinary care is required?
FFARQ is responsible for all vetwork (desexing, microchipping, vaccination, heartworm test as well as any extra vet work) that may be required during foster care.
How long will I have the pet for?
This will depend on many factors such as age, health, temperament and so on. Some of our cats come to us very timid and will require additional time allowing you to build their trust and confidence.
The general timeframe can be between 2 – 12 weeks, however there are no guarantees; some may need that extra time for that someone special to find them.
