Adoption Process

Furry Friends prioritises the long-term welfare of all our adopted cats, so we take the time to make sure that they will be happy and well-suited to their new forever home. 

How to adopt a cat or kitten:
To arrange a meeting with a cat you are interested in, send an inquiry to us through the cat’s profile page.

1. Fill out the EOI / Adoption form. The form does not oblige you to adopt any particular pet unless you decide they are right for you. 
2. One of our volunteers will be in touch to organise a meeting time with your chosen pet. 
3. After the visit, if you and our volunteer are mutually agreeable, the adoption can take place. Payment of the adoption fee for your pet is required within seven (7) days.
4. Take your new furry family member home.
5. Your pet’s vet certificates will be emailed to you two weeks later (when the trial adoption period ends), unless you are picking them up directly from the vet. For more information, download our handy ​Post-Adoption information guide.
6. If the adoption doesn't work out, and our support has not been able to assist the cat to settle in within two weeks of arriving home, then return the cat to the Furry Friends foster carer and receive a refunded adoption fee into your bank account.
