Volunteer Positions Available

Admin All-Rounder (Volunteer/Virtual/Open to QLD Residents)

ABOUT THIS ROLE
  • Shared position, 10 hours per week.
  • Assist with enquiries, basic foster profile creation, and general administration support.
  • Virtual, home based position.
  • Open to Queensland based residents, eligible to live and work in Australia.

We are seeking an administrative all-rounder to assist primarily with general email enquiries; basic foster profile creation; and general administration support.

As the Admin All-Rounder, you will be responsible for:
  • Responding to all general enquiries in a timely, professional and positive manner.
  • Creating basic foster profiles in PetRescue.
  • Reviewing adoption applications, matching suitable families with FFARQ fosters.
  • Liaising with Foster Carers regarding shortlisted applicants.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the internal database and Shelter Manager.
  • Attending the weekly team “virtual” meeting (one evening per week).
  • Other administration tasks as assigned from time-to-time to assist the team.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Driver's Licence (C)

As this role is primarily virtual or home-based, you will need (at your own expense): a reliable computer, mobile phone, internet and antivirus; as well as a Facebook account (or the ability to create an account).

A class C driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is also required to assist with foster carer visits within your SE Queensland local area from time-to-time.

To be considered for this role you will have:
​
  • Highly effective organisational and accurate record keeping skills.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with others.
  • Intermediate computing skills including knowledge of Internet Explorer and Facebook.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and/or Google Docs.
  • Be familiar with creating and editing web-based documents and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work cohesively within a virtual team.​

Time required
A minimum commitment of 6-months is required. Approximately 5-10 hours per week (during the initial training period), 5 hours per week thereafter.
