Our online adoption form has been developed over time to suit rehoming centres as well as direct adopters. Adopters can complete the form on their mobile device if the store doesn't have internet ready tills at the point of sale.
Digital copies of desex-vac-chip-treatment certificates will be provided to rehoming centres via email prior to arrival of the pet. Original certificates will be posted to adopters two weeks after they have taken the pet home when the trial period has ended. Store staff, please deposit the agreed adoption fee into our account within 24 hours of adoption unless otherwise agreed. Adoption fees can vary so FF will inform stores of adoption fees for each pet via email when certificates are sent OR the adoption fee is on the PetRescue profile used in stores to promote the pet. Re-homing partners are free to add administration fees to the final adoption fee." |
Pets might be moved from the store upon request for the following reasons:

- Pets have been in store for longer than two weeks
- A pet becomes ill while in store - Furry Friends withdraws that pet |
Should a pet become ill:
|
- Can staff please immediately notify a Furry Friends representative
- After consulting an FF representative can staff please immediately convey the pet to the nearest agreed vet for treatment (at the cost of Furry Friends *unless* the staff caused the illness) and possible quarantine |
Upon pet arrival at the store:

- A few cups of the pet’s current food will be sent along so that slow changeover to the store’s preferred brand can occur
- Furry Friends will inform the store about pets with special dietary needs and provide the vet recommended diet for that pet if the store doesn’t stock it |
Housing Cats or Kittens:
|
- Toys
- Water and food bowl - Litter trays (1 per cat) - Bedding with appropriate hideaways |
Housing Dogs or Puppies:
|
- Toys
- Water bowl - Enrichment food dispensing toys - Crate (wire or material) within enclosure to readily be accessible - To be taken out of enclosure for exercise/toileting every couple of hours |
Is it time for a new Furry Friends pet?
1. Please contact your designated Furry Friends representative to organise transfer of a suitable pet.
2. Once a new cat has been agreed upon, Furry Friends volunteers will email scanned copies of desex, microchip, vaccination and treatment records to be sent directly to the rehoming centre or pet store’s nominated email account.
3. When the store staff confirm receipt of the pet’s digital certificates, volunteers will organise transfer of the pet to your store as soon as possible. Please allow 1-3 days for the pet to arrive.
4. When pets are transferred into a store, their adoption price can be removed online from PetRescue and Facebook if the store requests, and their location will be updated.
5. Please email the Furry Friends representative to let us know how the pet is settling in within 24 hours.
